Department Colloquium.  Several times per year the department invites notable speakers to give interesting talks to general audiences.

Discrete Mathematics Seminar (Wednesdays 1:00-1:50). It will be held in Harris Hall 4th Floor, Room 4145 (Drs. Cranston and Larson, organizers). The VCU Discrete Mathematics Seminar hosts talks in all areas of Discrete Mathematics, with emphasis on topics in combinatorics and graph theory. Talks range from surveys of research areas and methods, to presentation of new approaches and results. Speakers are encouraged to make a significant portion of their talk accessible to non-experts.

Analysis, Logic and Physics Seminar (ALPS) Series (Fridays 3:00-4:00 pm). It will be held in Harris Hall 4th Floor, Room 4145. (Dr. Marco Aldi, Dr. Brent Cody, and Dr. Sean Cox, Organizers). The VCU Analysis, Logic and Physics Seminar host talks in all areas of pure mathematics, with emphasis on topics connected to analysis, set theory and mathematical physics. The goal of the ALPS is to introduce VCU undergraduate and graduate students to current developments in the field.

Biomath Seminar (Fridays 1:00-2:00 pm). It will be held in Harris Hall 4th Floor, Room 4119. (Dr. Suzanne Robertson, Organizer). The VCU Biomath Seminar features talks on applications of mathematics to many different areas of biology, including medicine, ecology, epidemiology and physiology.
